Elijah or John : A lesson For Muslims

Elijah or John

Book of Malachi says :
the Verse is no 5 which says

"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes.  (Refrence)

When Jews asked the Prophet Hazrat Isa (a.s) that where is Elijah ?

10: For this is he of whom it is written: `Behold, I send My messenger before Thy face, who shall prepare Thy way before Thee.

11: Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

12: From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force.

13: For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John;

14: and if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah who is to come.

15: He who has ears to hear, let him hear. .

(Reference)

See here how Hazrat Isa (a.s) called John the Elijah

Hazrat Isa (a.s) , the prophet of God , gave clear verdict about what is meant when the prophecies says an Old prophet shall come.
Learn a lesson from it , and do not follow the footsteps of the Jews. what they got by rejecting the prophet of the GOD . humiliation in this world and in the next world.

=========================
Elijah's story is not fabrication of Jews or Christians , it is authentic
=========================

How wrong it is when some one claims that because it is written in Bible so this is false story and that jews did not have the belief of ascension of Elijah.
Or because Quran have not corroborated it so we should throw this incident away.
Now if we say that this is not the authentic part and some one deliberately invented it then question will be who inserted this false Verse in the book of bible.

1) lets suppose the jews before the  Hazrat Isa (a.s)  inserted this false believe in book of bible that Elijah have gone to the sky and shall return .

if our supposition is true the when Jews demanded from  Hazrat Isa (a.s)  that where is Elijah ,  Hazrat Isa (a.s) must have told them that some one their ancestor made this fabrication but instead we see that  Hazrat Isa (a.s)  himself admitted this Apt as true and just interpreted it instead of saying that this is a fabrication
so our supposition is totally wrong. When Prophet of the GOD ,  Hazrat Isa (a.s)  did not said it is fabrication then who else can claim that this is a false tradition.
And when we see that one prophet corroborated the prophecy of the coming of the Elijah , then if Quran is silent about it , even then how can we throw that verdict away ?
If it is proved that Jesus (as) have corroborated the prophecy and interpreted it then we can , for sure, use it.

2) secondly we suppose that it could be Christians who added this into bible

this supposition will be totally wrong as well.
there are two parts of the bible
1) Old testament , both Jews and Christians follow it .
2) New testament ,Only Christians follow it
Now as the Jews have the Old testament then it is impossible for any Christians to add something in their books. They were the enemies of the Christians
how could have they allowed Christians to change their book ?
can some one shed light on it ??

3) Third supposition could be that both jews and Christians sat down one day after jesus have gone away from palestine (either on sky as per your belief , or to kashmir).
Jews said to christian that we add Elijah coming in our book and you add a good answer to Elijah not coming in this world.

this third part is hilarious as well.

Hence nether jews nor Christians added Elijah coming in bible themselves. Indeed this was the prophecy told to Jews from their prophets .Hazrat Isa (a.s)  himself authenticated that particular Verse in which Elijah second coming from the skies was mentioned and interpreted it beautifully.

==============
Final Message
==============

Sooner of later you have to die , you cannot never say in front of the GOD that because Quran did not mentioned this story that is why we consider this part of bible as the false thing.
there is an internal evidence which tells that this part is true and Indeed there was the prophecy that Elijah shall return.

Keep Hazrat Muhammad (saw) permission in your mind that we are allowed to quote from the books of the Bani israel.
Also keep that Muslims were foretold that they will follow the foot steps of the Jews.
And keeping both the things in mind , you will have to learn lessons from what Jews did in past and have to avoid doing that thing.

Hence your claim is partially acceptable that Quran have not mentioned the Elijah prophecy , but it is not necessary condition that if Quran does not mention something then it is FALSE.
In such matters we can use our mind and other evidence to learn the truth.

Fear the GOD. Accept what  Hazrat Isa (a.s) said

Fear this Hadith

The Prophet () said, "You will follow the wrong ways, of your predecessors so completely and literally that if they should go into the hole of a mastigure, you too will go there." We said, "O Allah's Messenger Do you mean the Jews and the Christians?" He replied, "Whom else?" (Meaning, of course, the Jews and the Christians.)

IF they were alive....MEANS.... They are DEAD

 Jesus a.s is dead like Moses a.s

The Holy Prophet Muhammad said:

لَوْ كَانَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى حَيَّينِ لَمَا وَسِعَهُما إلا اتِّباعِي

"Had Moses or Jesus been alive, they would have had to follow me."

(Al-Yawaqit wal-Jawahir, p. 24; Fath al-Bayan, vol. 2, p. 246; Tafsir Ibn Kathir, under verse 81 of Al Imran)

Govt of India Documentary on Jesus in Kashmir

(Al Surah Al-Mu'minun 23:51)

If I say Jesus, may peace be on him, died of natural causes, it would appear strange to many ears, even though when the same is said about billions of other humans, it seems but obvious, and is taken for granted.
Sir Francis Bacon, who has remained extremely influential through his works, especially as philosophical advocate and practitioner of the scientific method during the scientific revolution, once advised, “Read not to contradict … but to weigh and consider.” I would invite everyone of Christian background to view the following video and read the materials provided with this premise, please.
Human memory leads to the illusion-of-truth effect, meaning that we are more likely to rate those statements true that we are familiar with, regardless of their veracity. As such familiarity impairs judgment and prevents people from noticing let alone accepting the obvious limitations in their views.
Familiar seems true and unfamiliar, however logical and rational, seems fictional.
With this prelude we invite you, to a 53 minute documentary, produced by the government of India showing how Jesus came to India to teach Dharma or religion. This video has been the most popular in the video section of the Muslim Times.

Challenge of Dan Barker to every Christian about Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus

Epigraph: And their (Jews of Jerusalem) saying, ‘We did kill the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah;’ whereas they slew him not, nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified; and those who differ therein are certainly in a state of doubt about it; they have no definite knowledge thereof, but only follow a conjecture; and they did not convert this conjecture into a certainty. (Al Quran 4:158)
empty-tomb
Dan Barker (born June 25, 1949) is a prominent American atheist activist who served as a Christian preacher and musician for 19 years but left Christianity in 1984.  Read his biography further in Wikipedia.
He issues a simple challenge to all of us, Christian or not, in his book, Losing Faith in Faith: From Preacher to Atheist:
The conditions of the challenge are simple and reasonable. In each of the Gospels, begin at Easter morning and read to the end of the book: Matthew 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, and John 20-21. Also read Acts 1:3-12 and Paul’s version of the story in 1 Corinthians 15:3-8. These 165 verses can be read in a few moments. Then, without omitting a single detail from these separate accounts, write a simple, chronological narrative of the events between the resurrection and the ascension: what happened first, second, and so on; who said what, when; and where these things happened.
Since the gospels do not always give precise times of day, it is permissible to make educated guesses. The narrative does not have to pretend to present a perfect picture-it only needs to give at least one plausible account of all of the facts. Additional explanation of the narrative may be set apart in parentheses. The important condition to the challenge, however, is that not one single biblical detail be omitted. Fair enough?
I have tried this challenge myself. I failed. An Assembly of God minister whom I was debating a couple of years ago on a Florida radio show loudly proclaimed over the air that he would send me the narrative in a few days. I am still waiting. After my debate at the University of Wisconsin, ‘Jesus of Nazareth: Messiah or Myth,’ a Lutheran graduate student told me he accepted the challenge and would be contacting me in about a week. I have never heard from him. Both of these people, and others, agreed that the request was reasonable and crucial. May be they are slow readers.[1]
If the reader goes through this exercise suggested by Dan Barker and spends a few minutes of his or her precious time, he or she will realize that the conventional Easter or resurrection story is not reliable and does not  hold water.
Sir Francis Bacon, who has remained extremely influential through his works, especially as philosophical advocate and practitioner of the scientific method during the scientific revolution, once advised, “Read not to contradict … but to weigh and consider.” In that spirit keep reading actively.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs, so said Thomas Paine, one of the Founding Fathers of USA.  Resurrection is an extraordinary claim, never witnessed by any of the seven billion inhabitants of our planet earth.
Resuscitation on the other hand is a daily occurrence in every state of the art hospital, every where and advanced countries even teach laymen, as to how to resuscitate someone, who may be in imminent danger of dying, called basic life support (BLS).
